David began his electrical apprenticeship at 17 after graduating from Warilla High School, with a Sydney-based electrical company. He worked across industrial installations, commercial jobs, spec homes and luxury residential developments. Once qualified, he stepped up to run high-end home projects and lead a team of electricians, which is where his focus on planning, quality workmanship and attention to detail comes from.

High-end residential work and specialist LED lighting design are his passion. He also has extensive experience with new builds, renovations, switchboard installations and upgrades, and complete electrical fit-outs. He likes working closely with clients from the design stage through to the finished job, offering practical options that balance looks, function and budget.

A duplex development in Albion Park, the first major project David and Dylan completed together as D&D Electrical South Coast. With the freedom to design the whole electrical installation within the client's budget, they delivered a high-end result: custom LED strip lighting, underfloor heating, integrated speaker systems and carefully planned electrical features throughout both homes. For David, it was the chance to put years of experience into their own business and see what D&D could deliver from start to finish.

Dylan started his electrical apprenticeship at 19, mostly in commercial work and shop fit-outs, from small shops through to larger commercial installations. As he gained experience, he was trusted to run jobs and look after a small team of electricians. That taught him to read plans, organise jobs, coordinate with builders and other trades, and keep projects moving so the work was done correctly and on time.

Along the way he also completed multiple high-end homes, working on detailed lighting layouts, feature lighting, power, switchboards and complete installations, where the position, finish and look of the work matter as much as how well it works. After qualifying, he moved into industrial work on mining equipment, machinery and electrical control panels, building his skills in controls and fault finding.

Commercial electrical work, shop fit-outs, switchboards, electrical panels and fault finding, along with high-end residential work, new builds, renovations, lighting, power and complete electrical fit-outs. His industrial background gives him a good understanding of machinery, control systems and complex equipment, which makes him a better problem solver when something isn't working the way it should. He takes the rules and regulations seriously and keeps up to date with changes in the industry, standards and electrical requirements.

A farmhouse-style extension and renovation in Colo Vale, one of the first major projects Dylan and David completed together as D&D Electrical South Coast. They handled the electrical side from planning through to completion, working closely with the client on ideas that suited both the modern farmhouse style and the budget. A lot of thought went into making the electrical work suit the design rather than going wherever was easiest, with custom feature lighting, power and carefully planned electrical features throughout. For Dylan, it brought together everything they'd learnt across the trade and set the standard for the work they want D&D to be known for.

He's happy to talk through the options and explain why something should or shouldn't be done a certain way, rather than just turning up and doing the job.
